Last week seemed to be “wardrobe week” at the bakery.

We did an orange high top converse for a little girl’s 9th birthday. It turns out that you can fit a considerable amount of Red Velvet Cake in a size 8 Fondant converse. (I wouldn’t recommend eating out of the standard shoe.) The birthday message is on the star logo and heel tag. |

For a friends 60th birthday, we did a fondant covered pocket book and matching Flip Flops. (The birthday girl is known for your coordinated outfits.) The pocket book was Spice Cake with fresh apples and the Flops were carrot cake, taking our cue from the fashanista: coordinating, but not matching flavors. |

And, for a customer whose son is turning 21 and joining the marines, we sculpted a Marine hat out of Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream icing and covered it with a camouflage pattern that we made up of Fondant died olive drab, tan and black. |

We did of course have the more standard cakes also. The twin of the Converse shoe birthday girl ordered a Florida Gator cake. His was marbled vanilla and chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. |

Molly, I saw you Mom at Church Women United today, and caught up on your new business. (Marianna has already told me about it.)
Hope it continues to do well. Your creations are just, what shall I say, Creative!

Hey Mrs B.
It’s great to hear from you. You and Mom should get by-lines on all our cakes since you two taught me how to cook!
